This is the perfect two-day class for those who are in the beginning stages of their land administration career.  The workshop takes a methodical approach in laying the foundational principles for oil and gas land management. 

Over the years, hundreds of individuals have taken this workshop and have come away with an enormous sense of understanding and confidence.  

Topics include: The Oil & Gas Lease and its importance; the Termination Clauses of the Lease; Surface, Mineral, and Royalty Ownership; Legal Descriptions; Farmouts, Pooling, Back-Ins, and unleased owners; Payouts; and Calculations for GWI, NRI, ORRI.

 

Mastering Lease Obligations & Lease Termination Clauses

This 1-day workshop provides the most practical, applicable, hands-on instruction available for those who administer the oil and gas lease and whose jobs are affected by the lease.  The class will deal with several lease clauses including: the granting clause, habendum clause, pugh clause, force majeure clause, operations clause, shut-in clause and rental clause.

This is a basic-to-intermediate level workshop and will greatly benefit lease administrators, landmen, land associates, paralegals, and all land administration professionals.

This one-day class covers crucial information for the land professional dealing with several critical title issues and conveyances that impact how oil and gas interests are calculated and maintained.  The class will focus on non-participating royalty and its peculiarities; Joint Tenants, Tenants in Common and Tenants by the Entirety; Life Estates and Usufructs, Strangers in Title; after acquired title; the Duhig Rule and the rule related to interest conveyed vs, land described; descent & distribution; and term mineral conveyances.

Contracts - the Heart and Soul of the Industry

Contracts are the heart and soul of the oil and gas industry and this 1-day interactive course focuses on several of the most important that impact the jobs of land and land administration professionals.   Group exercises help demonstrate why and when contracts are used and the challenges they may pose.  This workshop highlights specific features and characteristics of  AMI’s, Joint Venture Agreements, Surface Agreements, Seismic Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, Participation Agreements and financial agreements that create a Production Payment. This practical, hands-on class will provide an understanding of contract law and is designed for all oil & gas professionals who work either directly or indirectly with contracts.
